On Saturday, October 7, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the 23rd Annual “Day at The Point” Fall Festival will be held on the grounds of Point of Honor, 112 Cabell Street. This family-friendly event returns to the historic Daniel’s Hill neighborhood for the first time since 2019. The beautiful grounds of Point of Honor will come to life with live music, local food, kids’ activities, living history, period crafts, costumed interpreters, house tours and more. Admission to the festival is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available along Cabell, A, and Norwood Streets.
The day will be filled with fun activities and demonstrations, including blacksmithing, cider making and tasting and open hearth cooking. Enjoy music by the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Gospel Choir and DJ MadLad. Carriage rides around the neighborhood will be offered by Lexington Carriage Company, and Little Critters petting zoo will showcase a variety of farm animals. The Virginia Canals and Navigations Society will display a special exhibit of batteau and canal boat models.
Several local historic sites will be represented, including Poplar Forest, the Legacy Museum, Historic Sandusky and the American Civil War Museum. The Point of Honor Gift Shop will offer a 15% discount along with many unique gifts, books, prints and ceramics on sale.
